Two fine gentleman named Jake Bell and Josh Johnson decided to make a kick-ass open-source intranet application built on Rails. They were awesome enough to let me rock the design.
The Logo
The logo utilizes the ever-so-popular MuseoSlab. The mark was developed to represent the rings on a tree. For this application, I dig it. Or chop it, or something.
The Application Design
Our primary goals were to make the site clean, simple, and above all else user-focused. Subtle gradients, few colors, and consistently styled functions were mission-critical. I am super thrilled with how it turned out, and where it's headed. The big search box will allow you to complete a "simple" search (client name, web url, etc), or you can use an advanced search ($sequoia) to return more focused results. You can also combine items ($sequoia $mysql) to return very> specific results. It's awesome.
Note: The images on display here are Photoshop comps - and not-so-final comps at that. I will update the screen shots with the live design once we're release-ready.
Sequoia App will be ready for its first release soon - whether it's beta, alpha, or rc. Keep an eye out if you're interested in this kind of thing.
